Three-time Grammy Award-nominee, Quartet San Francisco–Jeremy Cohen, violin; Joseph Christianson, violin; Chad Kaltinger, viola; and Andrés Vera, cello–was scheduled to make its Festival debut in concert at the live 2020 season. Undaunted, QSF has crafted and recorded a very special virtual program for Cabrillo Festival audiences. In their characteristic eclectic and non-traditional approach to string quartet, they’ll feature a wide variety of musical styles including tango, samba, Mongolian Folk, and French Fusion. The program includes works by composers Jean Luc Ponty, Raymond Scott, Enrique Saborido, and Jeremy Cohen, founder and violinist for QSF, and others. This promises an evening of musical delight and discovery.
