Community Sing With Tammi Brown

The fabulous Santa Cruz songstress Tammi Brown helped us celebrate and sing out our virtual season in style—and with a heartfelt grassroots spirit that embodies the Festival. 

There are few things more thrilling than a Festival finale, as audience members stream out of the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium into that soothing summer air, intermingled with the palpable energy of the performers. Cristi Măcelaru wanted to capture those moments of shared joy in the afterglow of The Battle for the Ballot’s historic world premiere! On August 9, after the concert, singer Tammi Brown performed and then guided us through a Community Sing experience, tailored for this new world we find ourselves—and each other—in. Some signed up to participate on-screen, while many others joined by simply watching the stream. The close of an ambitious, music-filled season ends with a sense of community, unity, connection, and hope. Let’s continue to sing it out together!
