Quartet San Francisco’s mission—to make the world a better place through music—feels never more timely. This year’s Sunday evening recital brings the three-time Grammy nominated group to the stage with tangos and jazz. Inspired by worldwide musical cultures, QSF’s precision and mastery of multiple styles has expanded the range of chamber music and the string quartet literature. Known for their elegant presentation of tangos by Astor Piazzolla and Jeremy Cohen, the group delivers with a “breezy wit, fine technical finish and a genuine feeling for music idiom” (Washington Post). Also jazz and pop aficionados, QSF superbly delivers the works of Leonard Bernstein, Chick Corea, Gordon Goodwin, Raymond Scott, and Giovanni Sollima. Violist Chad Kaltinger is a hometown troubadour and longtime member of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra.
