The Cabrillo Festival has
become the epicenter of modern symphonic music in our nation. As the
critics attest, the new dimensions and textures expressed in the
orchestral world today are being reflected at Cabrillo more brilliantly
and bravely than anywhere else in America. For music lovers, it’s the
place to be. And now is the time to be here! Music Director/Conductor Marin Alsop
is garnering unprecedented attention from critics and audiences around
the world. She is a virtual superstar in the United Kingdom. And when
she sits down to plan the Cabrillo Festival, she has the rare and
thrilling opportunity to close her eyes and to dream. This season that
dream becomes reality with two world premieres, one U.S. premiere,
eight west coast premieres, six participating composers, a stunning
